In 1946 born in Cairo, Egypt of Greek origin. Left Cairo during the Suez Crisis and came to study in England.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]From 1964 studied at the Sorbonne, Paris and at the Beaux Arts de Versailles. Then at Guildford and Farnham Schools of Art. Finally finishing her training in 1972 in the painting school of the Royal College of Art. MA (RCA)<\/p>\n

After Daphne\u2019s initial experience as Print-room technician in 1973 at the Byam Shaw School of Art,London. \u00a0She was appointed tutor and in the same year invited to teach at the City & Guilds of London Art School under Sir Roger de Grey PPRA. There Daphne developed the Printmaking Department and became Head of Printmaking and Illustrative Arts. A position held until she retired in 1998.<\/p>\n

On her retirement from teaching Daphne was accepted as Associate member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. Three years later she became a Fellow RE. She continues to exhibit at the Bankside Gallery in the Members exhibitions.<\/p>\n

In 2000 moved out of London to a late 17century farmhouse from where she now works. \u00a0In 2006 established ongoing Life drawing classes in West Wittering..<\/p>\n

Daphne\u2019s print\u2019s are of original limited edition. Drawing the \u00a0local landscape over a period of years and her travelling has given her the idea to take her drawings to a further development with the use of printmaking. Constructing drypoints and collagraphs \u00a0with exciting results. – \u00a0Drypoint is an extension of drawing \u2013 like other forms of printmaking – if you can draw you can print-make.<\/p>\n
